Barely eight (8) months since he took over as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday began a five day vacation, the
presidency has said.
This is contained in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to
the President on Media and Publicity.
According to the statement, President Buhari, who is expected to be away
from Friday, February 5th to Wednesday, February 10th, 2016 has handed over to
Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
The statement noted that Prof. Osinbajo will begin to carry out the
duties of the president while Buhari’s vacation lasts.
It reads in part: “In compliance with section 145 (1) of the Nigerian
Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation
to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
