USIGBE writes on President Goodluck Jonathan’s trip to Lagos and Oyo
states, in continuation of his effort to get the support of the
South-West for re-election.
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, spent several days last week in the
South-West, in a renewed offensive to woo the zone in favour of his
re-election bid in March. The zone is considered by pundits as the
battle front between the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the
opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) taking for granted that the
others have already been shared between the two parties.
Even though it was not explicitly stated, Jonathan had sought to use
the window provided by the election postponement to mop up support,
having already campaigned in all the states in the region. He met with
